Madrid, July 7 (SF) .- The representative of the region of Tenerife, Zabdiel González Nayz, this weekend took the title of Mr. Gay Pride Spain 2019, during the 41st edition of the Madrid Pride week (MADO), which culminates this Sunday.
Born in Venezuela but with father and Spanish nationality, he represented the island of Tenerife in the national contest.
According to the organizers of the event, the new Mr. Gay Pride Spain has been traveling around the country for several years thanks to his work as a classical dance dancer.
Now he will represent Spain in the international competitions of Mr. Gay World and Mr. Gay Europe.
During the gala, Gloria Trevi received the Special Prize Mr. Gay Pride Spain 2019, which in previous years went to Rocío Jurado, Marta Sanchez, Pastora Soler, Jorge Javier Vázquez and Camilo Sesto, among others.
Thousands of Spanish people and tourists have gathered in the different activities organized by MADO; and this Saturday more than 20,000 people gathered at the Puerta del Sol in Madrid to witness the Mr. Gay Pride contest, one of the most anticipated.
The edition of this 2019 has been dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the raid at the Stonewall Inn pub in New York, which gave rise to the LGTBIQ movement.
These activities seek to claim rights, equality and respect for different social groups.
The Gay Pride celebrations conclude this Sunday with a tribute to Mecano at the Puerta de Alcalá and different concerts in the late afternoon.
